Aging - The Ultimate Acid Test

pH refers to 'parts Hydrogen' and indicates the percentage of
hydrogen is in a liquid, in this case our blood. The less hydrogen,
the more acidic it is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. Zero is
totally acidic and 14 is totally alkaline. Water, for examples is
right in the middle at 7.0 pH. Our blood pH balance is very delicate.
If it falls just a tiny bit, from 7.4 to 7.35, it's called acidosis
and we die!Would you believe that there is enough acid in just one can
of soda to kill you!?l! So how come some people don't just keel over
on the spot? Our miraculous bodies maintain a thing called alkaline
buffers to prevent that from happening. In crisis mode, when those
buffers wear down the body will pull calcium from teeth and bones to
keep you alive. Here is where it all comes together: Pretty much
everything that's bad for you is acidic. Pretty much everything that
is good for you is alkaline. Junk food, made with all those
ingredients you can't pronounce, makes you sick. Refined sugar is one
of the worst acid offenders. Natural foods keep you healthy. It's all
in the acid/alkalinity balance. All disease, from tooth decay to cancer
is a result of some sort of acidity. Plaque on your teeth is acid
build-up. A cavity is a pocket of acid that ate through your tooth
enamel. Cancer is the ultimate acidity in the body. In fact, cancer
needs an acidic environment in order to exist. Cancer cannot grow in
an alkaline environment. Being healthy is being alkaline. Here's the
big secret to staying alkaline: Eat fresh, drink plenty of water and
exercise! And here's why: Fresh fruits and vegetables are alkaline
foods that will keep your body alkaline. When you buy prepared foods
read labels and follow one simple rule: Don't eat it if you can't
pronounce it.Drinking plenty of water - preferably alkaline water -
flushes metabolic acid waste from your body. You can undo many a
nutritional 'sin' by drinking plenty of water and flushing the system
afterward. Finally, exercise - heavy breathing is good for you.
Literally! Exhaling carbon dioxide reduces metabolic acid.
