Finding a Cure for MS - Is Not As Hard As You Might Think

For as much as science does not seem to be able to come up with what
causes multiple sclerosis, finding a cure for MS may not be as hard as
those in charge of all the research want us to think. Perhaps they are
overthinking the problem or maybe they just aren't looking in the
right place. Maybe their description of what constitutes a "cure" is
far too stringent. Scientifically speaking a cure allows the body to
completely recover, from an MS sufferer's point of view maybe it is
not quite that cut and dry.In Search of AnswersIf you had to live
every day of your life suffering from the variety of pains that are a
direct result of the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, your version of
finding a cure might be a little more like this, "A form of therapy or
treatment that brings an end to the exacerbations associated with the
disease so that the patient can lead a relatively pain free and normal
life." If such a cure existed you would probably jump right on it
wouldn't you?On the other hand if you were offered, "A therapy or
treatment that might mask the symptoms temporarily, have to be taken
frequently, changed as the disease progresses and has a high incidence
of potentially dangerous side effects", you probably wouldn't even
consider this as an option would you? Yet millions of MS patients
choose this option every day. What is the Difference?Finding a cure for
MS that works, means finding one that is not going to cause more
problems than it is likely to cure along the way. The second option
involves the use of the plethora of medications such as steroids,
antidepressants and anticonvulsants that have not necessarily been
approved for use in the treatment of MS. They do not halt the
progression of the disease; they merely mask the symptoms and have to
be continually adjusted. Many of them can cause side effects that can
be deadly serious. On the other hand if your idea of finding a cure for
MS matches the first option, you are already well on your way to a
working "cure". This option involves a simple, but important lifestyle
change. Walk into your pantry and your refrigerator and throwing away
all of the boxes and packages of processed foods. You then replace them
with fresh organic whole foods and if you must have meat, buy lean
meats and seafood. This diet along with exercise has been proven to be
very effective in stopping the symptoms of MS and keeping a large
percentage of patients in remission for many years. That is what I
call a cure and so do many thousands of others.
