The Life of a Housewife

In a world where women have fought for equality and won, a woman who
chooses to stay at home anyway is looked on with pity by some and
condescension by others.She has no goals, dreams or ambitions. She
lacks the desire to do more, be more...she is content...right? What
more could she ask for, in most cases she has a husband, children and
a house. She is living the dream! Right? Wrong! Many stay-at-home moms
are frustrated, many sacrifice everything including their own needs
for their families yet still most go unappreciated or worse,
unacknowledged. These women are considered unemployable because they
have not acquired certain skills or knowledge for the average job yet
more often than not they are more than qualified to pursue anything
they choose.Allow me to explore that statement. She is a housekeeper,
a personal chef, a nanny, companion, a maid, a negotiator, financial
adviser, an accountant, a nurse or doctor and that is but a few to say
the least. If you are reading this and are not one of these women, you
are rolling your eyes and thinking "whatever". For you skeptics let me
elaborate further. She manages her house hold by multitasking agendas,
plans, shops and cooks meals, takes care of the kids including theirs
needs and wants, she is a there for husband, she cleans the house and
all that, that entails, she disciplines and manages her volatile
children, manages household expenses and advisers her husband on
financial matters and even has to take care of whatever illness
assails her family unless it is absolutely necessary for the
professionals.This woman might not have the documentation to prove her
worth and she definitely does not earn her professional counterparts
salaries but at least afford her the respect she deserves. So, next
time you venture out and come across a housewife instead of snubbing
her, shake her hand.
