Quite often these days many people decide they want to get on a
weight loss program. That is ok, as long as we get on the correct
program and follow proper procedure while on the weight loss
program.Golden Rule # 1: Is to set a goal that is achievable... You
don't want to set your goals so high that if you don't reach that goal
in your expected amount of time you will only give up. You see if you
say you want to lose 15 lbs. in 3 days, it is just not possible to do
so in a healthy way. Set your goals to lose weight in a sensible
program and maintain that program until you have reached your goals.
It is much healthier to plan a weight loss goal that allows you to
lose 5 lbs. in a week than far less time. It is also more
achievable.Golden Rule # 2 Set a Long term goal for yourself... Be
exact on a long term goal to reach your weight loss. Put on paper a
specific time that you would like to lose 5 lbs. Then stick to those
goals. Do not deviate from your plan. Do not give up if you don't see
the results as quickly as you would like to. And don't forget that
sometimes while we are on a weight loss program we will also reach a
point where we lose inches more so than lbs. That is a good thing. But
also keep in mind that you can also set short term goals for your
weight loss program as well as long term goals. Just discipline
yourself to keep motivated and not give up. If you reach your short
term goal and then quit, your long term goal does not mean anything.
It was all for nothing. So be sure to set achievable goals, something
realistic.Golden Rule # 3 You want to make sure you do not overdo
it... You never want to go to the extent of over doing it with any
weight loss program. This could do you more harm than good. So
absolutely do NOT starve yourself or over exercise. Listen to your
body when exercising. It will tell you when enough is enough. Plus
anytime you over do it, that can be a big demotivator and cause you to
quit. Eating fewer calories more often and being consistent is key to
any weight loss program.Golden Rule # 4 Choose the exercise that is
Correct for you...When choosing an exercise program to accompany your
weight loss program always choose the program that is correct for you.
Just because it worked great for your friend does not means it is the
correct program for you. You have to remember that we are all built
differently. Therefore different bodies, different programs. If you
need help in deciding visit a personal trainer and get help from them.
If you like to walk or jog get a friend to go with you to help keep
you accountable.Golden Rule #5 Eating the correct Food and the proper
amount... Eating the correct food plays a huge part in any weight loss
program. But that alone will not be the answer. We also need to watch
the amount of food we eat. Avoid fattening foods for one thing. Go for
baked or broiled. It is much healthier for you. If you start to feel
full. Then STOP eating. You do not have to eat everything on your
plate. If you fill your own plate take smaller portions, if you are
still hungry after the first round you can always go back for seconds.
But it is also better not to stuff yourself. Eat until you are
satisfied then quit. All the exercise in the world is not going to
help with your weight loss plan if you keep overeating and stuffing
yourself completely full. It is also a waste of time if you keep
eating junk foods. In Conclusion: Set yourself achievable weight loss
goals. Stick to the plan and do not deviate. Eat smaller portions and
healthy foods. Set up an exercise program that is right for you.
