Creating Income Streams With HubPages

When writing for money it is important to create a mix of income
streams. Part of that mix is writing for revenue share sites that pay
a percentage of the AdSense ads that are clicked on your article. One
of the better known sites for revenue share writing is HubPages.
HubPages launched in August of 2006 and they have grown steadily since
that time. As of this posting they have an Alexa ranking of 182 with
over 22,000 sites linking directly to them. Those numbers give you a
head start before you write your first word, when it comes to
traffic.Getting StartedAll you need to do to get started at HubPages
is to simply sign up. You can literally begin writing articles at
HubPages within 5 minutes. You can write on anything and everything at
HubPages as long as it is original and within the guidelines of Google
AdSense program. Basically stay away from adult content. One thing I
would suggest doing however is to go over to their Learning Center.
The Learning Center is full of useful information that not only
benefit your article writing at HubPages but also anywhere else you
decide to write for revenue share.AdSense RevenueThe primary revenue
share on HubPages is through the Google AdSense program. In a
nutshell, advertisers pay Google a fee to place ads on sites for
certain keywords. When the ad is clicked by a reader, Google pays a
percentage of the ad price to the owner of the article. If you do not
have an AdSense account yet, head over to Google AdSense and create an
account. What is unique about HubPages is that instead of sharing a
percentage of the revenue created by all the AdSense ads, they post
your Google AdSense ads 60-percent of the time and their AdSense
40-percent of the time. If a reader clicks on ads during your
60-percent impression time, you get 100-percent of the revenue. If the
reader clicks on HubPages 40-percent, HubPages keeps 100-percent. This
has its downside because you are not sharing all the AdSense profits
but it also has its upside. Advertisers pay for keywords. Some
keywords payout better than others. Over time you will want to
research your articles prior to writing them to find those little
golden nugget keywords that will make you more money than just a few
pennies per click.More Revenue StreamsOne of the best things I like
about HubPages is that there are more income generating avenues other
than just AdSense. They also allow you to create income from Amazon,
eBay and Kontera. Kontera is a site similar to Google AdSense except
that they place in-text advertisements. You've seen them when you see
a highlighted word in an article and place your cursor over the word.
An ad pops up that someone pays Kontera to place on that keyword. If a
reader clicks on the ad, you make a percentage.Amazon and eBay is
pretty straight forward as well. Become an affiliate at both and
create ads based on your article topic. HubPages does not take any
percentage of revenue of your Amazon or eBay affiliate sales. Each
article you write at HubPages has the potential to earn money in four
separate ways. A well written, evergreen article at HubPages could in
essence bring in good money on a monthly basis.I have been with
HubPages off and on for about 3 years. In my opinion, HubPages is one
of the better sites to write for money on a regular basis. The key of
course is doing some research on your keywords and keeping your Hubs
entertaining and informative. Do not allow your Hubs to be over
promotional or just create them for backlinks to other articles and
sites. Treat your Hubs as their own entity and your income potential
can steadily increase over time. There is no cost to you and all you
have to do is sign up at HubPages to get started.
