There doesn't seem to be many yeast free foods, but fortunately for
you, this is not a diet that you really need to do for the rest of
your life. You simply need to help your body take a time off from all
the unhealthy foods that you have been eating since you were old
enough to choose the foods you eat all by yourself. After that, you
need to eat the foods that do not cause problems for you. Don't you
think that's quite a simple process? But first, what is yeast? It is
simply bacteria which is already present and thriving inside the
digestive tract of the human body. They are not the only bacteria
inside your body; they co-exist with many others. However, if there is
any disturbance within the body, which is usually caused by
antibiotics, it can cause an imbalance that kills the good bacteria
and causes yeast to grow vigorously. Such profusion of yeast growth
can result in symptoms such as joint pain, thrush, fatigue and other
disorders which seem unrelated, and so you take medicine to stop each
symptom not knowing that the problem lies deeper. To treat the deeper
problem, you can take up a yeast free diet. For this type of diet, you
need to avoid three basic foods: sugar, yeast, and alcohol.Sugar can
be found in many foods that you eat everyday. This is not just the
sugar that you put in your coffee or Cheerios every morning. Among
them are brown, white, raw, and powdered sugars. Sweets like honey and
maple syrup and fruits that have high sugar content, like passion
fruit, pineapples and mangoes, should best be avoided as well because
they all help the yeast inside your body grow.As you try to starve out
the yeast in your body of their main nourishment of sugar, so too will
you crave it for yourself. Rest assured that it will become less of a
problem as you go on. Just remember that simple carbohydrates also
turn into sugar in your body, so you should also avoid starchy foods
like rice, potatoes and flour.Yeast is another ingredient that appears
in a lot of foods and you may be unaware of it unless you read the
food label. It is usually found in processed foods like bread,
vinegar, pickles, ketchup and mayonnaise. Peanuts, pistachios, cured
and smoked meats also have yeast, so you should also avoid them at all
cost.Alcohol simply helps the growth of yeast inside your digestive
tract, so make sure you also avoid any drinks that include it. Aside
from that, alcohol also promotes the body to release its store of
sugars. That means no beer, wine, rum, champagne, vodka, gin, brandy
or whiskey. As mentioned earlier, you are not supposed to avoid them
for life so don't worry too much. After about six weeks of yeast free
foods, you are to take in those forbidden foods bit by bit, and keep a
record of the ones that do not cause any uncomfortable side effects
for you. These ones you can continue eating so long as they do not
cause any problems. Those that do cause a problem are to be avoided
and they vary from person to person so be sure to take note
scrupulously.
