The pollution caused by the indoor decoration has attracted more and
more attentions from people. The indoor decoration has always induced
various diseases. Although there is no medical proof to prove the
relationship between the pollution of indoor decoration and the
formation of various diseases, the pollution of indoor decoration is
at least one of main reasons of causing diseases.According to the
experts, most decorative materials contain organic substances like
formaldehyde and benzene. The pollution caused by the indoor
decoration can not be avoided. The reasons of causing indoor pollution
are diverse, such as the decorative materials and furniture. The
materials for indoor decoration like flake board and paint all contain
the toxic substances including formaldehyde and benzene. If these
substances are absorbed by the human body, they can cause various
diseases like high blood pressure.Generally speaking, the indoor
pollution is mainly contained in three kinds of household articles,
namely, furniture, floor board and decorative materials for wall.
Furniture is a main source of formaldehyde. The long-term absorption
of formaldehyde can seriously stimulate the respiratory system and
probably cause cancer and fetal abnormality. When people choose the
materials for the floor, they should pay attention to the content of
formaldehyde, the strength of the board and the functions of
preventing insect and resisting corrosion. The decorative materials
for wall also contain toxic substances. For example, the emulsion
paint is usually composed of water, paint and emulsion. These raw
materials do not contain toxic substances. The toxicity is produced by
the ethylene glycol in film-forming agent and organic mercury in
mildew preventive. Therefore, it is safe for people to use emulsion
paint with high quality.Although the indoor pollution can seriously
endanger the human health, there is no need for people to worry about
the decoration too much. The harms can be strictly controlled as long
as people choose environmental-friendly decorative materials and find
out the pollution source. At the same time, people should moderately
adjust the humidity and temperature inside the house. The speed of
release of toxic substances keeps a close relationship with the
humidity and temperature inside the house. In addition, people should
not decorate the house if someone at home is pregnant, or the healthy
growth of fetuses can be affected. After the decoration, ventilation
should be well maintained, as ventilation can accelerate the release
of toxic substances so as to reduce the indoor pollution to the full
extent.
