I find in many Christian circles or places of worship, an
announcement or a preliminary introduction is made by the announcer,
before the preacher, evangelist or faith healer takes their place to
minister. What type of introduction? In my experience in the holiness
church when the preacher has a word from the Lord for someone, they
always qualify it by saying, "The Lord commanded me to tell you...."
this looks impressive in the presence of many people and even builds a
sense creditability of the preacher in the eyes and ears of those
observing. Why must your spirit lead directives (if they truly are) be
announced before you do them? If the spirit of God is leading you to
do or say something, simply do it or say it. Why must it precede a
qualifying statement or a preamble to qualify what your about to do?
If the listener doesn't receive it, it's God they are rejecting, not
you. Many church leaders will announce their actions with qualifying
phrases such as; "The Spirit is leading me to tell you..." or "I feel
lead of the Lord to tell you..." One phrase that I would mostly hear
was "God has not released me to tell you..." My response would always
be, why even mention it? Why conveniently throw God into the situation
to make yourself look spiritual and tightly connected with God? If God
has instructed you to go some where or the say something, you have all
the authority you need....act on that alone.Using Gods name to qualify
your actions and to manipulate people into doing as you bid is simply
deceptive. If you don't know the spirit, voice and move of God, you
must ask yourself the question, am I one of His sheep? You will know
His voice, because it matches what He said in His word.A preamble is a
brief introductory statement. The one that comes to mind is that of
our Constitution of the United States. The U.S Preamble states
intentions of our founding fathers regarding the constitution. In the
work place, we use a lot of humor through the day when we talk to each
other, for instance, when their is an announcement to make, the one
making it will say "Preamble, Preamble" which means their are a bunch
or words that I don't need to really say in order to tell you..." and
then we go into the important part of the announcement.Leave the brief
introductory statements behind when it comes to proclaiming Christ or
obeying God. People will know who sent you, who appointed and anointed
you when you simply do the will of God. The people of God know the
voice and move of God when they hear it.
