If you are reading this article the chances are that you are
currently experiencing the 'ringing in the ears' type of tinnitus or
you have experienced it in the past and may be worried about a
reoccurrence. In general it is thought that the majority of people
living in the developed world suffer some form of tinnitus at some
point in their lives. Many people get cured by accident i.e. they
don't make a conscious decision to take the necessary step or steps to
cure themselves. Others are cured faster because they do.In other
articles it has been mentioned that the main causes of the 'ringing in
the ears' type of tinnitus, which includes buzzing noises, high
pitched whining noises, thumping kinds of noises etc. are medications,
dietary choices, loud noises and old age.In the case of medications
there are numerous families of medicines that do result in patients
presenting with tinnitus. It has been shown that if the patients are
taking large doses of the medicine that this can happen. In many cases
once the dosage has been reduced or the patient goes off the
medication then the tinnitus stops.Dietary choices that may lead to an
onset of tinnitus include drinking alcohol to excess, drinking coffee
to excess and drinking soda water to excess. If the excessive
behaviour continues for a long period then the tinnitus will also
continue. However once the person stops binging and reduces the excess
then it is most likely the tinnitus will stop. The debilitation of the
actual hearing mechanism that may be part and parcel of the onset of
old age is a major cause of tinnitus in the over 70s section of the
population. Depending on the severity of the tinnitus there is some
hope that the suffering can be reduced. This may not be possible in
all cases but any cure that has a reliable proven outcome is worth
trying. While masking tinnitus definitely helps sufferers it is no
substitution for a real cure.Chronic tinnitus of the 'ringing in the
ears' type is generally acknowledged to be the most difficult to cure
but modern advances hold out the hope of a permanent cure. If you are
one of the myriads of people who suffer from this affliction then take
action now.
