Article writing can be a challenging situation for many. The simple
act of just sitting down and writing can seem like it is too much
trouble. Let's face it; we as humans are lazy by nature, so who wants
to take the time to write. Most would rather read than write, so who
is doing the writing? In order to write quality articles, you should
follow these tips:
Create an attractive title. Your article title is
what will get you the traffic to your article. If your title is not
attractive, then it will not get noticed. Do some keyword research in
order to find out what people are searching for and include these
keywords in your title.
Create a teaser copy of your article. The teaser copy is a brief
summary of your article that someone can read prior to reading your
article. It is essentially the back cover of your book. The teaser
copy is usually the first two to five sentences of your article and
should be kept to a maximum of 200 words and no paragraphs.
Write your article. Now that you have your title and teaser copy, you
can begin to write your article. Do research on your topic so that you
can deliver factual content. Include any personal experiences that you
have encountered to support the facts that you are portraying. Utilize
quotes from celebrities. Just remember to put these quotes in
quotation marks and give credit to the celebrity. Do not plagiarize
the content from other articles. Plagiarizing will no doubted get your
article account suspended and your article will not be published. Be
aware of all copyright laws.
Make your article interesting and easy to read. Try to avoid "big"
words that no one will understand. Write at the level that you are
comfortable speaking. Keep your content relevant to the subject of
your title. Try not to stray off the path. Your article should contain
a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 5000 words. You should always
try to include the title of your article in the text body. A good rule
of thumb is to mention the title or keywords not more than once per
100 words. Any more than that and you take the chance of your article
not getting approved and you will come across as spam.
Assign keywords. Assigning keywords to your article will ensure that
it will be found and ranked by the search engines. Only assign
relevant keywords that support your article. Keep the keywords or
keyword statements down to less than 100 characters and separate each
keyword by a comma.
Author signature/resource box. Most article submission sites will
allow you to create one or several signature/resource boxes that you
can utilize. This area should give a brief description of yourself,
your ideas or beliefs and a link to your website or email address.
This area is your space to shine and prove that you are the authority.
Make the best of it, but don't spam.
Proofread your article. Prior to submitting your article for approval,
proofread it. Utilize the spelling and grammar function of your word
processor. Read your article out loud. Make sure that it makes sense.
Have someone else in your home or a friend read your article. If your
article does not make sense to them, revise it. If your article is not
approved, make the necessary changes quickly. Don't spend countless
hours or days revising or correcting your article. One of the best ways
to create a name for yourself and develop your brand is by writing
good articles that provide helpful and quality content. Remember to
have fun with your writing and with practice and experience, you will
be looked at as an expert author.
