Cheap or Even Free Advertising

Want to gain some exposure for your business but working with a
tight budget? Here are some tips on how to get cheap (or even free!)
advertising.Attract the media.
How? Send a press release (include
unique photos!), plan a newsworthy event, be a guest speaker at a high
profile conference. Once you've achieved a media mention, post it on
your website and refer to it in other promotions. PR is the cheapest,
most credible advertising. It's who you know.
You know hundreds of
people and they each know hundreds of people. That's thousands of
potential contacts! Utilize relationships with clients, colleagues and
friends. Educate them about your business and target market. Treat you
referral sources with care. Find out who is sending business your way
and be sure to show your appreciation. Whether it's a thank-you card
in the mail or an elaborate gift, the gesture will go a long way. If
you're into social media, or wanting to get started, setup a LinkedIn
account. It's free and it's a great networking tool that's not going
to overwhelm the social media virgin.E-mail.
A form of advertising
that is immediate, cost-effective and flexible - how great is that?
Remain top of mind with your contacts via informative, relevant,
consistent messages that appeal to your market. One of the most
under-utilized, underestimated, under designed tools out there is the
eNewsletter. If you don't have one, you should. If you do have one,
you should also have:
- a qualified mailing list
- a schedule
- a
custom template
- a proof reader
- a system that tracks open rates and
click throughsPick one of the above or one small piece of one of the
above and get started. One small step in the right direction will go a
long way if you keep putting one foot in front of the other.
