Leaving the 9-5 Life for Good - How I Became Financially Independent by Working Online

Two years ago I was in a terrible financial situation... I had just
recently lost my job and with the economy only getting worse I knew
that I had to make a switch quickly. I didn't know where to turn and
became increasingly desperate as my savings dwindled down to nothing.
I had heard that it was possible to make a decent living online;
however, I didn't know the first thing about where to start. I ended
up spending a few hundred dollars on products that looked great on
paper, however, I just couldn't get to work as advertised.I began to
think that the problem was with me and that only depressed me further.
I started to believe that I was the one doing something wrong and that
if these methods worked for other people then they should work for me
as well. Then I came to a small blog run by a "nobody" that let me in
on a little secret... that most of the products I had purchased were
flat out scams. I grew furious at the hour upon hour I had wasted,
however, what could I do about it? The pages, known as squeeze pages
had looked so enticing with their pretty graphics and earnings
reports... little did I know that those earnings reports were from the
"guru" selling the scam product, not from that guru actually
implementing the method he was supposed to be selling.For a few weeks
after that day I gave up internet marketing and went to apply for
temporary jobs elsewhere, making what I could to get by. Ultimately I
decided to give Internet Marketing another try and boy am I glad I
did. I started out again with one new product, a real one that could
make me real money. I'm not going to lie and say I made $1000 in my
first day... actually I still haven't had a $1000 day, however, I
started to make real money and that was what mattered. I remember the
first dollar I made online as well as the first time I sold a product
online for $24.70. Heck, it wasn't even enough to fill up a gas tank,
however, I knew then that it was the beginning of something I could
scale up.The first method I found online that actually worked involved
submitting links for search engines, however, this quickly grew
boring. I was glad that real money was rolling in, however, the
monotony made me think back to my days in a cubicle... not good. Then
I found a method called affiliate marketing. The concept behind this
method is that you sell products others produce, keeping a portion of
the sales in the process. This method quickly became my favorite, as I
could promote as many products as I wanted. If I bored with one
product I would move onto another... what a welcome change.Fast
forward to today where I make a majority of my money online. I'm still
not a millionaire nor do I plan on being one soon, however, I don't
have any debt and I'm better enjoying life now so something obviously
worked. Below is the method I got started with, submitting links for
search engines. It's not glamorous or "fun", however, it makes real
money and that is what made all the difference to me.
