There are many things that butlers can do for a home. Traditionally
most people think of the butler as the person who answers the door
when someone arrives. However, there many other services that they can
do. You also need to know that you have the right person for the job
when it comes time to hire one for the household.Butlers are more like
the house managers. They have the job of overseeing that everything in
the house is taken care of. Their job is important because it keeps
the people who live in the house from have to do anything or worry
about anything. They also often manage any other household staff that
may be employed by their employer. This important job cannot be given
to just anyone. The person hired for this position must be extremely
professional and must also have a good understanding of everything
that goes into being a good butler and home manager. That being said,
finding the right person to do the job is no easy task. The best way to
start is to place an ad or contact a service agency that places people
like butlers in to the homes of well off individuals and families. You
will want to collect a few names of some strong candidates. You will
also want to get the resumes of all the candidates from both the
agency and any respondents to the ad that seemed promising.Once you
have a list of several candidates for the position, you then need to
start setting up the interviews with each of the candidates that you
are considering. You will want to be prepared with a list of questions
that you will ask each of the candidates when you meet with them. It
is also a good idea in a position like this to have other members of
your household staff interview the candidates too since they will be
answering to them. After all of the interviews are completed it will be
time compare notes. From this point you can narrow the field even
further. Of the remaining candidates you should investigate they're
references. In a situation like this references are very important to
the hiring process. You need to find out that the people you are
considering have a good reputation and that past employers were
pleased with the level of work that had been done in their homes. After
checking the references, if you are still having trouble deciding
which candidate is best for you and your household, you may want to
consider having them do the job for a week or two on an interim basis
to see who seems to fit with the household and staff better.
