Security Essentials 2011 is a new fake antivirus program that
infects your computer and pretends to find viruses in order to try to
sell you their fake protection program. As soon as it is installed,
Security Essentials 2011 immediately goes to work disabling your
system defenses such as existing antivirus programs. It can also
disable your task manager so that you will not be able to shut it
down. Additionally, it can block access to popular computer help
forums and to major brand antivirus websites. It does all this in
order to scare you into purchasing their program.Security Essentials
2011 removal can either be easy or a bit more involved, depending on
how deep the infection is. Do note that since it is a Trojan, it will
not come with an un-installer, so you cannot simply remove it via your
control panel. To remove Security Essentials 2011, please follow the
steps outlined below:1- Press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys on your keyboard.
All 3 keys need to be pressed together at the same time. This will
bring up your Task Manager.2- In Task Manager, click on the processes
tab and look for the process SE2010.exe.3- Click on SE2010.exe and
choose End Process. This will temporarily shut down the infection.4-
Make sure that you do not shut down your computer, otherwise it will
restart again. Update your existing antivirus program and run a full
system scan. Your antivirus should be able to pick up the infection
and remove it.
