Florida's coasts are credited with attracting tourism, boosting the
local economy and creating thousands of jobs. But they also attract a
good deal of recreational fishing. Fishing guide service offers
fishing charters. Grand slam guide services will supply you with
professional Florida knowledge to insure a fun and productive day of
fishing the south east Florida reefs, wrecks, and ledges in the waters
off of Palm Beach Island. Southeast Florida & the Keys vacations hosts
a number of fishing tournaments that bring sports fishermen from all
over the world. Lake Osbourne produces largemouth bass, catfish,
bluegill, and a host of others. Most of the lake's edges are covered
with eelgrass and hydrilla, which provide great cover. Inquire about
gear & techniques including rods, reels, terminal tackle and natural
and artificial baits. Be sure to check the weather before you go
fishing.Panama City Beach boasts outstanding restaurants, antique
shops, flea markets and art galleries with more businesses relocating
everyday. Once you have experienced Panama City Beach yourself, don't
be surprised if it sneaks into your mind long after you've returned
home. Pristine beaches, salt air, quiet days and gentle breezes have
that legacy.Pier fishing are ideal for guys looking for a relaxing
experience where you can be at one with the world, do battle with
nature and concentrate your skills on landing the perfect catch. Who
knows you may even catch yourself some dinner, and to be honest,
what's better than grilling your own fish on the BBQ with your mates
and saving yourself some money in the process. For the proper hardcore
amongst you, then deep-sea fishing is a fantastic experience. You'll
want to book through an organized excursion, and get a brilliant days
fishing, and with bluefin tuna, yellowmouth barracuda, blue marlin and
a whole host of gigantic fish to offer, you'll need all the strength
you can muster to reel these babies in. So whether you know your
snapper from your amberjack, next time you are looking for something
different to do on a holiday, why not give fishing a go.Tarpon Springs
is one of my first choices to vacation in Florida. Tourism has
replaced sponging as tarpon springs major economic activity. Thousands
of visitors each year come to the city to enjoy the outdoors, visit
the sponge docks, see professional divers in action and experience the
Greek culture that still permeates the city. Visitors come to walk the
boulevard and visit its unique Greek shops, buy sponges and feast at
restaurants serving traditional Greek fare and delectable pastries.
Many of the shops are owned and operated by the descendants of the
city's first immigrants from Greece. It is estimated that the tarpon
springs economy helps nurture a $20 million a year tourist industry
along with the city's thriving antique and arts community.Tarpon
Springs is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, and is known for having
the highest percentage of Greek-Americans of any city in the United
States. Tarpon Springs got it's name in the late 1800 from visitors
who noticed the spotted tarpon fish leaping out of the gulf of Mexico.
The first Greek immigrants arrived in Tarpon Springs around 1880
hoping to thrive as sponge divers. By the 1900's sponge harvesting
became a multi million dollar business until the sponges died off in
the mid 1900's due to a red tide. Tarpon Springs is known for it's
waterfront properties overlooking the gulf of Mexico and it's many
bayous. This combined with nearby beaches in Tarpon Springs gives many
opportunities for swimming, boating and many other water sports. The
sponge dock district of Tarpon Springs is the biggest tourist
attraction in the area as well as being a historic destination. There
are an abundance of shops and boutiques that sell real sponges along
with other imported goods.Destin, Florida is known as some of the most
fertile fishing grounds in creation. Each year, tourists and fishermen
alike gather in Destin to take advantage of the region's bounty of
fish. But Destin also happens to be one of the world's foremost
snorkeling spots. With many underwater sights to explore, snorkeling
is one of the most breathtaking activities for any vacationer.
Visitors can be sure that they will encounter some of the most
beautiful treasures in the world. Tropical fish, natural reefs and a
whole array of other sea life. Loggerhead turtles and stingrays can
also be spotted. While some people worry about sharks, Destin
snorkeling charters stay out of any areas where sharks or other
dangerous fish could be present, ensuring a safe and fun experience.
Snorkeling trips last about three or four hours depending on how many
activities are included in the trip package. The charter guide will
usually give a double time rundown of how the day will go, complete
with instructions on safety and usage. Charters will rent out any gear
that you might need.Nearly every year, millions of small minnows
migrate north to south in the Atlantic near shore waters beginning in
late August and tapering off in late October. The large, black clouds
of baitfish are crashed by tarpon, sharks, snook, bluefish, jacks,
mackerel and whatever else cares to join the fray. Even anglers who
aren't too proficient with a cast net can usually catch enough bait to
last an entire day with one or two throws, and then turn these live
baits into double-digit gamefish catches.Kissimmee is ready and
waiting to lead you to the big ones. Catch some of Florida's awesome
trophy bass or go to the space coast for some of the best saltwater
fishing or go on a turtle hunt. The Canaveral national seashore, on
a1a near Titusville, is a virtual turtle incubator, with hundreds of
sea turtles making the journey to lay their eggs in the warm sands
beside the Atlantic. Whether you want to glide over the water at a
leisurely idle pace, looking for exotic birds, turtles and Florida
alligator, or fly like the wind into the swamps at speeds up to 45
miles per hour.Okeechobee is bursting once again with fish and the
water is good after years of crippling catastrophes. The lagoon itself
is known as the bass fishing spot of the world. It is said about 6
million people are drawn to reservoir Okeechobee, plus its proximity
to Orlando and that city's 52 million annual visitors provides more
ability for business. If your favorite way of fishing is the use of
artificial then try frog's, horney toads, flapping shads, spinner
baits, jumbo worms and you're favorite flipping/pitching bait. Colors
to monopolize on are june bug, black/blue, callow pumpkin,
watermelon/red, and plum. Let me warn you the people on the lake are
very conservation minded, suggesting keeping only trophy bass or what
you will eat, and release the rest. With this in mind, please do not
keep fish over three pounds for eating. Your guide will clean your
limit of fish for you to take home or bring to your favorite
restaurant.Gone are the times, when people sought for regular cruising
lines. All they want is a change from regular life. Freedom from
social restrictions. They get intimate with their partners and enhance
their lifestyle experience. It's an amazing setting and picturesque
location and is a welcome treat for all. They explore different
islands to visualize their beauty and be one with its
environment.Places to visit in west Florida: North Redington Beach,
